Summer Sunburn
July 12, 2007 1:06 pm natural cures, stories, sunburn, sunburn remedySummer is here, its hot, and people are going to the beach! And what does that mean, but lots of summer sunburns. Even though the sun has been lighting our world ever since man first walked it, most of us are still not smart enough to avoid getting sunburns once per year or more often. Sunburn can really hurt and cause major skin damage including skin cancer.
Here is a list of folk remedies for treating sunburn. The list doesn’t provide info on the accuracy but here are some things that people try:
- cucumber
- hot water and cold water
- epson salts
- aloe (I know this one works for my sunburns)
- baking soda
- lemon water
- lavender (where do you find THAT)
- milk
- oatmeal
- potatoes
- last but not least: yarrow - Yarrow! is actually a natural remedy used by Native Americans for their Indian Sunburns.
Sunburns Kill
Don’t stay in the sun too long. Use lots of SPF 400 sunscreen, as sunburns can cause skin cancer. And you don’t want that.

Sunburns Kill and so does African American Incidental (UV) Transference.
Don’t stay in the sun or be around African Americans too long. Both can and do cause skin cancers leading to melanomoas.
It is caused by the increased amounts of uv coming through the ozone. Under normal circumstances, blacks absorb uv light and release it as heat; but doctors say they are not only releasing it as heat anymore: they are releasing it as ultraviolet.
Fairskinned people need to be very conscience of this, particularly indoors in carpeted workplace environments.
The best reccommendations are to use lots of SPF 400 sunscreen and wear 100% cotton under garments.

Excuse me, Mr. Finkle, but that comment of yours is extremely racist and should not be tolerated by anyone in this country. I don’t know what motivates you but that is a very hateful and dispicable thing you suggest and I would delete your comment if I owned this blogsite.
You suggest that a condition called African American Incidental (UV) Transference allows African Americans to transmit ultraviolet light from their skin, but this is scientifically unfounded. I have a MD from Stanford University and I have never heard of this. I have looked for any FACTUAL information supporting this idea but none exists.
Gesher Finkle, simply put, you are a bigot and your comments should NOT be tolerated. You are a shame on America.
